ROBERT RYAN?

Robert Ryan

ROBERT RYAN (1909-1973), born Robert Bushnell Ryan

Leading man, tough guy, cowboy or gangster, Robert Ryan played them all. No matter how bad the movie, he was incapable of giving a bad performance. A truly great actor.

The Longest Day (1962)Haven't you seen The Longest Day (1962)?
Ryan is General James Gavin, airborne troop commander. A small but powerful role.

Watch this and then see these other four films.

The Professionals (1966) Ryan is among a group of men hired to rescue a woman kidnapped by a Mexican bandit. Or was she? Robert Ryan, Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, Woody Strode, Claudia Cardinale, Ralph Bellamy and Jack Palance. It doesn't get any better.
Billy Budd (1962) One of Ryan's best villain roles.
Odds Against Tomorrow (1959) Another powerful cast make this a film noir must-see.
Day Of The Outlaw (1959) Ryan gives a sympathetic portrayal of a man desperately trying to keep an outlaw band from murdering fellow townspeople. Burl Ives is the bandit leader. The snowbound valley is an unusual setting for a Western.
